Toddler Cylinder Blocks

Description

The Cylinder Blocks are one of Montessori Sensorial’s most iconic materials, designed to give a toddler their first structured encounter with visual and muscular discrimination of size. Long before a child can name “tall,” “thick,” or “small,” their hands can feel the difference, and that felt knowledge becomes the foundation for later mathematical and language concepts.

Each of the four beechwood blocks is a rectangular prism with gently concave faces, shaped so small hands can lift and carry it securely, and finished to a fine, glossy polish that invites touch. Every block holds five sockets, for twenty knobbed cylinders in total, each fitted with a pencil-grip knob that quietly prepares the fingers for the tripod grasp used in writing.
