Description

The Stamp Game is the moment a child steps from moving physical quantities to working with numbers in a more symbolic, almost written form, while still keeping every operation grounded in something they can touch. Housed in a wooden box with six compartments, the material replaces bulky bead quantities with small, flat, colour-coded stamps, each marked with its value, so a child can lay out even large addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems on a tabletop with ease.

Working through an operation with the stamps, colour-coded skittles as divisors, and coins as placeholders for zero, a child aged four and up practises the full range of arithmetic while reinforcing everything they already know about the decimal system. Because the stamps are compact and quick to lay out, children can attempt longer, more ambitious problems than bead materials alone allow, building genuine independence and confidence as numbers stop feeling abstract and start feeling familiar.
