Mystery Bag – 3D Natural Geo Shapes

This Mystery Bag takes the classic stereognostic exercise a step further, filling it with a graded set of three-dimensional geometric shapes rather than everyday objects.

Reaching into the bag without the aid of sight, the child explores each shape by touch, tracing its edges, faces, and curves with their fingers, and works to identify it before drawing it out to check their answer. Once a shape is recognised, the child searches for its matching pair, turning the exercise into a satisfying, self-correcting game of touch and memory.

This is the stereognostic sense at work: the ability to perceive and recognise form through touch alone, independent of sight.
