Tasting Bottles

Description

Taste is one of the more intimate senses to educate, and the Tasting Bottles approach it with care. Eight bottles, each fitted with a dropper and colour-coded in two sets of four, are filled with different edible solutions so the child can explore basic taste qualities such as sweet and sour, presented together on a polished wooden tray.

Using the dropper to place a small amount of liquid on the tongue, the child learns to notice, compare, and name what they taste, a simple act that builds body awareness, self-control, and vocabulary in equal measure. Because taste is closely linked to how children relate to food and to their own bodies, this exercise develops an early, thoughtful cognitive relationship with flavour, complementing the smelling and tasting work that rounds out the full sensorial curriculum. The wooden tray keeps the set orderly and inviting, encouraging the calm, unhurried pace the exercise calls for.
